There is no downtime to the Laser Genesis procedure, though some clients may experience erythema (redness) that typically resolves within 24 hours.

Laser Genesis patients report excellent results over their entire face and neck. Additionally, skin care professionals may suggest this therapy to diminish recent scars on other parts of the body.

The number of sessions required varies per client and depends on a variety of factors, such as hormones, pre-existing skin damage, age, etc.

Although most clients experience few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within a few hours of treatment. Consult your medical esthetician for complete information about the benefits and concerns regarding this treatment.

Men and women of any age who wish to improve their skin can be treated. The most common conditions treated are surface wrinkles, redness, and brown spots.

Laser Genesis treatments are gentle and soothing. During the session you will feel a series of warm pulses along your skin.

PRE-CARE

  • Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment.
  • Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved.
  • No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment.
    • Includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.
  • Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
  • Notify clinic with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
  • History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment.

POST-CARE

  • Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.
  • Redness and swelling may occur and resolve with time
  • Avoid heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
  • Avoid skin irritants (examples below) a few days post-treatment
    • Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.
  • Notify the clinic of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
  • Consult with the clinic about when to resume your skincare regime.
  • Clients may experience some breakouts due to bacteria from under the skin coming to the surface.
