EYE PEEL | INTENSE RESTORATION

A chemical peel on the eye area can help improve skin firmness, and minimize fine lines and dark spots while reducing dark circles. IPL can help your eyes look their best by stimulating collagen with TCA. Available since the 1800s, TCA is considered a gold standard for all acids milder than phenol. TCA leads to the deposition of collagen, glycosaminoglycans, and elastic fibres in the first few weeks after dermal connective tissue remodelling takes over, which may continue for several months.

Chemical Peels for the Eye Area

The delicate eye skin is thin and prone to show the signs of ageing.
Skin peels utilize a chemical agent to exfoliate the skin, strip away the outer dead skin cells, and debris to reveal fresher skin, and stimulate the production of new skin cells and collagen. This treatment has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the delicate eye area.
Eye Peel Benefits
Each peel reveals new, younger and fresher skin underneath, improving fine lines and wrinkles and reducing visible crow’s feet and laughter lines. It also lightens any areas of pigmentation, darkness, or sun damage, such as age spots, freckles, blemishes, and dark spots. The treatment promotes skin cell renewal, yielding natural and continuing results in the weeks to come. It rejuvenates tired-looking skin, improves dryness, and hydrates it, resulting in a glowing and healthy complexion.

Chemicals peels sting but do not cause a great deal of pain. The gentlest peels use alpha-hydroxy, glycolic, lactic or fruit acids are also gentle. They may cause stinging, redness, irritation and crusting but as the skin begins to adjust all these problems will lessen. Trichloroacetic acids are used for stronger peelings. They remove wrinkles, superficial blemishes and pigment problems. Phenol is the strongest of all treatments and removes deep lines and wrinkles on the face. These types of treatments sting more than those with the gentler acids. After the treatment there may be redness, swelling and irritation but the use of creams and gels will reduce these effects. The doctor may also prescribe medications that will help relieve the problems after the peel.

The downtime depends on the type of chemical peel and a variety of factors, such as hormones, skin sensitivity, aftercare, etc. Consult with the medical esthetician for the expected downtime for the type of peel you receive.

• Temporary or permanent change in skin color, particularly for women on birth control pills, who subsequently become pregnant or have a history of brownish facial discoloration.

  • Scarring
  • Reactivation of cold sores
The number of treatments needed varies per individual and depends on a variety of factors such as skin condition, expected results, hormones, etc.
Fall and winter are the best time to get a chemical peel because it decreases the chances of damaging the new skin through UV damage (sunlight). With that being said, chemical peels can still be performed year-round, if proper precautions are taken.
The amount of peeling observed does not always correlate with the success of the peel. The best indicator of the success of the peel is the end result. A variety of factors influence the amount of peeling expected , such as the depth of the peel , the state of the skin prior to the peel and biological factors .
